February 2015 Is Already Here During The Winter Solstice

February 2015 is already here during the winter solstice bringing an historic blizzard snowstorm for the new century.  The Snow Day after the blizzard, all schools close for the snow clean-up, removal, and snowfest fun-making outside in the chilling, wind-blustery cold.  Clear blue skies and a day full of sunshine have been beckoning all hardy people to go brightly outdoors, encouraging everyone to come in the snowy cold Monday, February 2, 2015.  It is not a typical first day of the week, when the buzzing sound of the Toro snow blowers running outside intrude upon our consciousness.  I miss my Toro Snowblower which my Father, Roberto Hung purchased new from the Lombard Toro Dealer during December 1993, twenty-two (22) years ago.  Our Toro Snowblower machine was registered to the Lombard Toro Dealer who is still located one block from our Lombard home at 502 South Westmore-Meyers Road and Washington Boulevard in District 5, York Township, Du Page County, Illinois USA.
The Canadian Arctic Blast came down across the United States, nationwide, east to west, with a roaming Blizzard Snowstorm which was announced early during the Winter Severe Weather Advisory and arrived on time for Sunday Super Bowl XLIX on the first day of February 2015.  Although most fans were snowed in during the blizzard, others braved the climate change and weather elements to be out and about all day long, on Sunday, February 1st, 2015.  The New England Patriots played against the Seattle Seahawks and won the fourth NFL Super Bowl Championship at the University of Phoenix in Glendale, Arizona.

There are many birthday anniversary celebrations during February 2015.  Happy Birthday Anniversary To One And All!  My Mother is celebrating another birthday anniversary on Monday, February 02, 2015 for the 77th year…  She was born in Santiago de Cuba during the Earthquake of 1938 in the largest Caribbean island known as the Pearl of the Antilles, Cuba.  My Mother is the second child of my Chinese Grandfather Alberto “Kunsan” Fong Qin Ming and his Cuban wife Irene Ramos Mejías.  Since my Grandmother Irene was married before, she begat a her first male newborn in Kingston, Jamaica.  Then my Grandmother Irene divorced her first husband, and married my Chinese Grandfather who was a merchant from mainland China.  My Mother was born the first daughter in her family, on February 2, 1938 in Cuba.  Afterwards, my maternal grandparents, Alberto and Irene begat four (4) more children:  a third child, a son, then a fourth daughter, another daughter, and the youngest son, having a total of six (6) children.  My Mother was married at the age of 20 years old to my Father Mr. Roberto Hung Juris Doctor at the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba on March 23, 1957.  Today, she is the surviving widow of Mr. Roberto Hung J.D., along with her two offsprings, and all the living relatives of Mr. Roberto Hung J.D., who have survived tribulations and their immigrant experience as Cuban-Chinese immigrants in the United States of America  for more than fifty years.
On Groundhog’s Day, February 2, 2015, Punxsutawney Phil, the famous groundhog in Pennsylvania has seen its shadow, and can forecast six (6) more weeks of winter, before the arrival Spring around March 21, 2015.  Punxsutawney, is a small town, 65 miles northeast of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania where the groundhog or badger, known also as a rodent or prairie dog, in a German cultural myth looks for its shadow on February 2nd every year, to forecast whether the winter season will last another six (6) weeks until Spring comes in March.
